On December 2, the 8th Big Data Application Practice Conference took place in Ya’an, Sichuan Province, China. The conference, themed“Building a New Ecosystem for Computing Power Applications and Creating a Digitally Integrated Future Together”, aimed to provide an open, collaborative international platform to foster global cooperation in computing infrastructure development, data flow, and the digital industry ecosystem.

In recent years, Ya’an has actively supported China’s national“Eastern Data, Western Computing” strategy, striving to become a regional computing hub and a model city for digital transformation. The city has now established data infrastructure comprising 40,000 server racks with computing power exceeding 6,000 petaflops, ranking among the top regions in China for computing efficiency and providing a solid foundation for digital economy development.
At the conference, experts including Chen Runsheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lu Chuan, Chairman of Adaspace Technology Co., Ltd., shared insights on building a computing power ecosystem and promoting inclusive AI development. Ya’an representatives introduced the local digital economy environment and investment opportunities, while the Sichuan Big Data Industry Association released its annual industry report.
To further promote cross-regional collaboration, Ya’an launched the“Digital Economy Connectivity Initiative”, calling on all parties to advance digital infrastructure interconnectivity, co-develop green computing resources, share data assets, and foster industrial innovation, contributing to sustainable development in the global digital economy.
The conference also unveiled the“Catalogue of Digital Economy Resources and Application Scenarios in Ya’an”, covering 73 specific industrial resources and application scenarios and inviting global enterprises and institutions to participate in collaboration.
During the innovation showcase, Huawei and Huakun Zhenyu jointly introduced an all-in-one AI foundation model appliance for the healthcare sector, while Xugu Weiye launched a new-generation real-time data service platform. In total, 16 cooperation projects were signed on-site, with a combined investment of approximately RMB 11.5 billion, spanning computing power services, data technologies, and industry integration.
The conference brought together nearly 300 representatives from government, enterprises, academia, and investment sectors, highlighting Ya’an’s openness and collaborative potential in the digital economy. Ya’an looks forward to partnering with global stakeholders to advance computing technologies, deepen digital integration, and create a sustainable, intelligent future.
