Hubei Province registered168.7billion yuan in technology contract transactions in 2020, an year-on-year increase of 16 percent and an increase of 103.3 percent over the beginning of China’s 13th Five-Year Plan, according to the data released by the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province at a meeting on January 12, 2021.
Based on the same data source, in 2020, the total R&D investment in theprovince surgedfrom 56.17 billion yuan to 95.788 billion yuan, R&D personnel swollenfrom 221,000peopleto 285,500people, scientific research institutions enlargedfrom 2,245 to 3678, and the number of invention patents in every 10,000 peopleincreased from 4.3 to 10.4.
In addition, the value added of the high-tech industry multipliedfrom 502.894 billion yuan to 892.286 billion yuan, the number of high-tech enterprises rosefrom 3,317 to 10,400, and the transaction volume of technology contracts bulked upfrom 83.01 billion yuan to 168.7 billion yuan.
