The Court of the Internet
Hi! Welcome to “About China”!
In today’s program, we will talk about ” The Court of the Internet”.
China has set up its first court specializing in handling of internet-related disputes in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, where many technology enterprises are located, amid rapid growth of online purchases and financial activities in the country.
The Hangzhou Court of the Internet is responsible for the trial of six types of civil and administrative internet-related cases, including Internet shopping, service, micro-finance loan and other contract disputes and online intellectual property rights infringement and disputes.
Compared with the ordinary court, the court of the Internet did not have the plaintiff's and the defendant's seats, nor the court clerk, but adopting the speech recognition system.
From case filing to court hearing, a lawsuit will be handled entirely online, and litigants do not have to go to the court in person, just staying at home.
