社會和諧

2002年中共十六大報告第一次將"社會更加和諧"作為重要目標提出。2004年中共十六屆四中全會進一步提出構建社會主義和諧社會的任務，強調社會和諧是中國特色社會主義的本質屬性。黨的十八大把堅持促進社會和諧作為堅持和發展中國特色社會主義的基本要求之一。促進社會和諧，就要把保障和改善民生放在更加突出的位置，加強和創新社會管理，正確處理改革發展穩定關係，團結一切可以團結的力量，最大限度增加和諧因素，增強社會創造活力，確保人民安居樂業、社會安定有序、國家長治久安。

Social harmony

In the political report delivered at the 16th National Congress of the CPC in 2002, "fostering social harmony" was announced as a major goal for the first time. In 2004, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the CPC announced the task of building a harmonious socialist society, stressing that social harmony is an inherent attribute of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The Party's 18th National Congress listed promoting social harmony as a basic requirement for upholding and building Chinese socialism.

To promote social harmony, China will give higher priority to ensuring and improving the people's wellbeing; strengthen and conduct innovative social management; strike a balance between reform, development and stability; bring together all forces that can be rallied; maximize factors conducive to harmony; and increase the creative vitality of the society. It will make every effort to ensure that its people live and work in contentment, its society has good public order and the country itself enjoys enduring peace and stability.
