1956年，浙江省467名青年志願者
In 1956， 467 young volunteers from Zhejiang Province
奔赴大陳島參與墾荒建設，
went to Dachen Island for wasteland reclamation．
用熱血和汗水把一座滿目瘡痍的荒島
With blood and sweat， they turned this desolate island
變成了青春奉獻的熱土，
into a land of youth and dedication，
鑄就了“艱苦創業、奮發圖強、無私奉獻、開拓創新”的墾荒精神，
and created the spirit of land reclamation featuring ”hard work， great efforts， selfless dedication， pioneering and innovative”，
猶如燈塔指引後人砥礪前行。
guiding future generations to forge ahead like a beacon．
多少年來，在神州大地上，
For many years， the reclamation practices in China，
從南泥灣的大生産運動，
such as Production Campaign in Nanniwan，
到北大荒的開荒拓土；
reclamation in the Great Northern Wilderness，
從浙江台州的荒島建設，
construction of desert islands in Taizhou， Zhejiang Province，
再到新疆兵團的農墾實踐……
and the agricultural reclamation in Xinjiang Corps
無不在白手起家、苦幹實幹中創造業績，
are all examples demonstrating that land reclamation workers have made achievements from scratch through their hard work．
墾荒隊員到“最艱苦的地方去”，
In the areas where conditions are toughest，
憑一腔熱血，信念不移，獻身事業，
workers， with sheer force of will and conviction， dedicated to reclamation projects
將不可能變為可能，

在荒蕪的土地上開墾出了無盡的希望。
