據國外媒體報道，2012年度美國鄉村音樂電視獎(CMT Awards)的提名已經揭曉，前美國偶像大賽冠軍卡麗-安德伍德(Carrie Underwood)一共拿到了五個獎項的提名，是所有音樂人中獲提名最多的，在她之後，米蘭達-蘭伯特(Miranda Lambert)和泰勒-斯威夫特(Taylor Swift)也都得到了四項和三項獎項的提名。
卡麗-安德伍德獲得的五項提名包括“年度最佳錄影帶”、“年度最佳女歌手錄影帶”和“年度最佳合作錄影帶”。而對於獲得四項提名的米蘭達-蘭伯特來説，她以個人身份拿到了“年度最佳錄影帶”和“年度最佳女歌手錄影帶”這兩項提名，還作為Pistol Annies組合成員拿到了另外兩項的提名。在“年度最佳錄影帶獎”的爭奪中，將與安德伍德和蘭伯特競爭的音樂人還包括傑森-阿爾丁(Jason Aldean)、托比-凱斯(Toby Keith)、Lady Antebellum組合、Rascal Flatts組合、布萊克-謝爾頓(Blake Shelton)和泰勒-斯威夫特等。
在最具突破音樂錄影帶獎項中，美國偶像大賽的粉絲們要再次在斯科蒂-麥克雷利(Scotty McCreery)和勞倫-阿萊娜(Lauren Alaina)之前作出選擇。此外，深受樂評人喜愛的The Civil Wars組合本次也一共拿到了三項提名，其中兩項提名都來自與泰勒-斯威夫特合作的那首《Safe &Sound》，這首歌被收錄在《The Hunger Games》的原聲音樂大碟中。
本週一，本屆美國鄉村音樂電視獎的投票已經開始，投票到當地時間6月4日截止。在投票結束兩天之後，本年度的鄉村音樂電視獎頒獎儀式將在鄉村之都納什維爾舉行。
