《Uncut》“150張最佳”特刊
21世紀的第1個10年就要過去了，世界文明並沒有如科幻電影《2001太空漫遊》所描繪的那般受到天啟而飛速進化，唱片工業反而受到網際網路的衝擊顯得前所未有的“疲軟”。但在另一方面，這個10年恐怕也是有史以來人們聽到最多新聲音的10年。我們從沒有如此接近距離地接觸到歐美音樂文化，不再依賴落後的傳統媒體和打口帶，現在我們的音樂欣賞完全能夠和大洋彼岸同步。還記得10年來你到底聽過多少新鮮的聲音嗎？要回答這個問題其實真的很難。

最近一期的《Uncut》雜誌選出了21世紀第1個10年中150張最佳專輯。其中來自英國的專輯不在少數。《Uncut》雜誌是一本來自倫敦的月刊，在英語世界國家中非常流行。這本雜誌專門報道音樂，但也有關於電影的部分。我們來看看有哪些英國專輯入選了這10年來最值得一聽的專輯。
Arctic Monkeys
《Whatever People Say I Am，That’s What I’m Not》封套
排在第24位的是Arctic Monkeys的《Whatever People Say I Am，That’s What I’m Not》（Domino，2006）。《Uncut》説：“年輕、活躍、多變，並且通過Alex Turner非同尋常而精妙的詞作才華，Arctic Monkeys雖然情緒多變，但仍恰如其分地繼承了The Jam、The Smiths和The Libertines的偉大傳統。”

排名第23位的是Beth Gibbons和Rustin Man合作的《Out Of Season》（Go！，2002）。《Uncut》將其描述為：“一張脆弱、誘人和大膽的憂鬱唱片。”

《Think Tank》封套
Blur的《Think Tank》（EMI，2003）排在第22。《Uncut》説：“一張優雅和成熟的唱片，從‘Caravan’溫暖的阿拉伯情調到悅耳的流行曲‘Out Of Time’無一不是精彩之作”。
Amy Winehouse
《Back To Black》封套

Kate Bush
《Aerial》封套

Radiohead
《In Rainbows》封套

Primal Scream
《XTRMNTR》封套
第14名，Primal Scream的《XTRMNTR》（Creation，2002）。《Uncut》説：“一支樂隊的第6張專輯被認為是他們最好的一張，這種情況極為罕見，但有了《XTRMNTR》，Primal Scream便開創了一片新天地。”
Portishead
《Third》封套
第12名，Portishead的《Third》《Island，2008》。《Uncut》説：“一場《啟示錄》般充滿德國搖滾樂、民謠、電子樂，甚至高科技音樂的不妥協碰撞，這種不祥的預感仿佛就是世界崩潰的原聲帶。”
《Raising Sand》封套
第6名是來自老將Robert Plant和Alison Krauss合作的《Raising Sand》（Rounder，2007）。《Uncut》對這張專輯評價道：“一場對美國根源音樂多樣性的華麗慶典。”
《Uncut》把第1名的桂冠給了美國樂隊The White Stripes的《White Blood Cells》（2001）。
《Kid A》封套
此外，Radiohead的《Kid A》（Parlophone，2000）被這本英國雜誌只排到了第25位，《Uncut》將其描述為“逃離樂隊之前通過《OK Computer》建立的複雜的搖滾音樂監獄之路”。相反據“時代線上”網站近日評選的21世紀第1個10年100張最佳專輯卻將其排在第1名。“時代線上”做出的解釋是：在發行差不多10年之後，Radiohead的第4張專輯很容易讓人忘記當初在它出現之時是多麼地讓人目瞪口呆。《OK Computer》獲得了歌迷和樂評家一致的推崇，將其看作是有史以來最棒的專輯，於是樂隊的下一個挑戰就應該是保持他們的聽眾群，而不是變成他們自己崇拜的樂隊。因為這樣的話，他們會功成名就，全身而退。據説Thom Yorke和Jonny Greenwood是樂隊中的筆記型電腦操作者，其他成員甚至疑惑他們是否還被需要。不管怎樣，他們的所作所為實際上是重新定義了新世紀搖滾專輯的概念。“Everything In Its Right Place”和“Morning Bell”的氛圍仿佛是為強迫症定制的，“The National Anthem”和“Idioteque”則充滿了夜晚的恐怖。而縱觀全局——最顯而易見的要數“How To Disappear Completely”和“Optimistic”——Radiohead仍然留有時間讓我們想起儘管他們變得面目全非，他們激動人心的現場協同仍然完好無損。上一支主流搖滾樂隊發表這樣的實驗唱片同時還保持其商業成績，就必須追溯到1968年的《The White Album》了。而這才是《Kid A》所達到的成就。
